Arman
Accumulation of Football Shoes
Accumulation of Real Objects Hard and Soft
Just before christmas I visited the Pompidou Centre in Paris where Arman had an exhibiton. I was impressed by his 'Accumulation' works. He takes multiple everyday objects such as football shoes or paint brushes (shown above) and arranges them into a work of art. This challenges the viewer to see the objects in a different context to how they would in an everyday situation.

I can't sleep I have ideas running round my brain...
I'm just lying awake, my mind is going a million miles an hour thinking about my new project.Im using the idea of isolation as a starting point but so many threads to go off on....mental isolation, solipsism, scared of being alone, physical isolation, solitary confinment, sensory deprivation, the human condition, confined by our senses in perception,in the womb alone, the best-human contact and communication!how do we connect with each other?trying to take control of the uncontrolable, bound by the limits of our minds and travel, having body constrained, sexual bondage, controlled or controller?why? Power.isolate objects,do I want to show my fear of isolation or celebrate my love of intergration,I love humanity don't want pessimistic project but don't want idealised project, needs to show balance.....right rant over sorry no sketchbook 2 hand /glad I got that off my chest :-)

Pleasure In Paris
Hieronymus Bosch - Ship of fools - 1490-1500 = painted... I feel this painting shows humanity aimlessly going round in circles without a clear aim....After studying a lot myself as well as going through difficult personal battles...my philosophy is that 'we don`t know what the fuck is going on anyway!' Therefore people play games, waste time and 'float around lost' just like this painting shows. I would say this is a cynical painting although perhaps it reflects Bosch's personal feelings towards humanity - I greatly respect this personal approach when the painting is put into context as most art at the time was heavily religious.
Leonardo Di Vinci - Mona Lisa - The most famous painting in the world.
Pompidou Centre Paris - Arman Exhibition was amazing more about that soon...

Lets Get Personal
Since the realisation of my own mortality my outlook on life has changed immensely. I have studied many humanities in search of the answers to questions surrounding the human condition.
Along the way I have learned a lot about human nature, beliefs, values and motives. There is
no subject that explores what it is to be human like Fine Art: it gives the artist complete
free reign to express themselves and to investigate the world around them. I am overflowing
with ideas; I need the freedom Fine Art allows to explore my ideas to their full potential. I
believe my solid contextual background and slightly eccentric personality give me the
capability to create some captivating work.

The Most Beautiful book i've ever owned...
I haggled for this at the German Market a couple of days ago...got it for a tenner! It is to be my pathway stage journal I LOVE IT! ommmmmmmm peace out and all that! Anyway....I have had a revelation about my sketchbooks today, I was looking through them and I have decided that I concentrate too much on how they are being presented in terms of somebody else looking at them rather than being there for me to freely express my ideas in without worrying. Although I am happy with my sketchbooks up to now, I think during the next stage of my course I am going to be a lot more unrestricted which I think will go a long way in helping me develop my style.
