Blank Stare Exhibiton

Yesterday was the opeing of the first exhibiton featuring my work. I showed Three photographs which i did in collabouration with Kate Hook and two monoprints. I also showed the live instalation shown In the photograph above (to be posted shortly). Its a meter squared wooden platform with metal rods going up each corner and up to the ceiling level. On the platform was a chair with a man sitting semi nake handcuffed. Around the poles I put clingfilm which trapped the chair  along with the man inside the box.
I found reactions to the live art interesting as people didnt seem to want to look directly into he box...they prefered to look discretly. i found this quite perculiar, perhaps it made them feel voyeuristic or perverted. Lots of people commented that they thought i was being cruel to the man...however he was totally collusive in the whole thing. I am pleased about the reactions my work recieved as it says alot about human nature and how art can make people feel aqward- it certainly made an impact : D
